We are pleased to announce that the students of the Advanced Architectural Design Academy students have been invited back to the AIA Baltimore Excellence in Design Awards on Oct 10th to display their 2014 end of year project. The project was based around designing and building "Modern Themed" birdhouses. The process started by assigning each student a different client (aka. bird). The students then had to research about modern architecture. They focused on learning the characteristics of the style and the origin of it. The students then started needed to learn about their birds, it was important to learn about the living habits. This all lead to getting their ideas on paper by generating sketches. Once they decided on a few "ideas" they then started to generate their 3d sketch-up models. Once the decided on the sketch-up model they wanted to create the began creating their cut sheets in AutoCAD. Ending with the students building their birdhouses out of poplar.
