I'm am proud to announce that we are continuing a long-standing tradition at the ARL with the Annual Architectural Design Academy Student Showcase. This year's project was based on the students designing a vacation home for a very picky client......me. The program consisted of a 2700-3000sf 2-story modern styled home located on a lakefront site. This has been an exciting project for the students as they have had to really work through the process. The students are excited to share their designs with you and continue this tradition with your participation.
As an architectural professional, we are asking you to review the student's work, as well as, share your expertise on each student's technical skills and professional performance at the Architectural Design Academy Student Showcase on Jan. 26, 2015. This senior class has worked very hard to master curriculum content, architectural concepts, design processes, as well as, professional skills. Our students would like to demonstrate this acquired knowledge through a presentation format that will highlight their design process and project. Your review will become a part of their grade and help to prepare them for an upcoming internship in Feb of 2015.
The showcase also provides the opportunity to self-select an intern for an off campus internship. These internships touch the lives of our students and assists in creating Howard County's future workforce. Your time and effort will also enable our Architectural Design students to gain industry knowledge and experience by networking with local architects within the business community. If a student impresses you, please feel free to meet with either Anita or I before you leave.
