UI Navigation/Interaction
AutoCAD is a complex 2d/3d drafting and modeling application. One of the most important steps with getting started with AutoCAD is getting to know the UI (User Interface). Below you will find an image of the UI which labels the various parts. Please become familiar with the names of the various components of the interface. Visit this the following link to learn more about the various parts of the UI. AutoCAD Interface Overview Link

Moving around the drawing
Navigating the drawing is an important part of interacting with AutoCAD file.
There are two commands that we will focus on in this section, ZOOM and PAN
Inside of the ZOOM command there are a few options, ALL, CENTER, DYNAMIC, EXTENTS, PREVIOUS, SCALE, WINDOW, and OBJECT.
In a nutshell - The ZOOM command will make seeing your drawings easier, though it makes your drawing "look" bigger and smaller it does not change the actual size of the drawing.
The PAN command will moves which section of the drawing that is currently displayed on the screen. "moves it around".
